First Semester & 2009 Alumni Show

Hey artlumni! I hope everyone is doing well in college. I'd love to see what you are working on. This year we are going to have our alumni show during your winter break so I'd like to invite you all to come back to the school for the event in January to show some work and speak to our current students about your college experience thus far.

Ok so I moved to SVA's new res on Saturday. That's my room and the view from it. 

I don't start classes til like Tuesday so I've been spending time in SoHo, went to kidrobot and stuff and also spending time in Brooklyn cause my friend lives there. I'm looking forward to classes starting though...I guess.

Gallery hopping in NYC

Hey alumni, I wanted to invite you all to an upcoming show I have at SVA's gallery in Manhattan next week. I'll post up an invite soon but the show will be up from July 8-28. I'm showing my ongoing daily photography project along with some other stuff as part of a group exhibition.

Also there is a great new photography magazine you should know about- JPG magazine- all you photographers should join!

Once again the year has come to a close- Congratulations to all the graduating seniors! Please come back when you are all world-famous, artist-jet setters. Hopefully everyone will continue to communicate via this blog and post their work. I plan to have a yearly alumni art show that everyone will be invited to participate in. Once again- congrats!

Alumni art shows

Hey,

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm all set to start another new program here at SHSE- alumni art shows. I'll be inviting you all to submit 1-2 pieces in April for a show in May or June and to come back and speak to the current students about life in the real world.

We will also be having a show with alumni from way back when I started who are now out of college and in art careers and they will be doing the same. We'll have an "alumni art day" here so you can all meet and learn from each other and catch-up.

I will also be opening the alumni blog to a few older alumni that I keep in touch with so feel free to welcome them when (and if) they post.

I hope everything's going well!

Art school philosophy

Hey Alumni, Don't forget to make some art while you are on break, (it's often the only time you have free tim during the school year). Remember to make art fun and don't get to wrapped up in the art school philosophy.
